We are a family of 4 on our sailing boat 'Chillalot' that will sail the big oceans. Our family consists of passionate sailors who love to explore new places and experience new cultures. We document our journey and share our experiences through our blog. We believe that traveling on a sailing boat is an extraordinary way to explore the world and we want to inspire our readers to follow their dreams and live their lives to the fullest. Meet the crew
The Prinsen family from Achel (Belgium)
Just before our youngest son was born, we bought our first sailing yacht, a Beneteau Oceanis 43. For 6 years we sailed her through north-western Europe. After the decision was made to go and cross an ocean we upgraded her last year for a more masculine Hanse 575. A spacious 17 meter long monohull with a 25-meter mast called 'Chillalot'. To keep 'Sir' Chillalot afloat, the crew is indispensable. So may I introduce: Captain Kevin, Chief officer Geerte and last but not least Deckhands Guus and Joep.

Kevin Prinsen
Born in 1981. Sailing from the age of 3 weeks and a born technician this man will bring us safe to our destination. He will go out of his way to help other sailors and is very happy to talk about all the technical stuff on board.
Chief officer
Geerte Prinsen
Born in 1982. Joint Kevin in 1999 and sailing together ever since. Although she has been sailing for 25 years she still considers herself a newbie. After discovering that sailing at night means sleeping kids, she is our number 1 watchkeeper.
Deckhand
Guus Prinsen
Born in 2014. Already learned how to sail an 'Optimist' and last year upgraded to a more adventurous sail in a 2 handed 'RS Zest'. A smart and very sweet boy who wants to discover the world. A bit of a daredevil who loves to play soccer and snorkel around.

Joep Prinsen
Born in 2017. Was on a sailboat before he was even born. A smart, loud and funny little fella. Keen to make new friends of every age and loves to do something technical. Also loves to tease his brother. Will get his first taste in solo sailing this summer in an 'Optimist'.
